In this week’s episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Professor Tim Noakes on the benefits of a low carb diet and keto diet. Tim is a prolific writer and researcher and says that all disease is a result of insulin resistance and metabolic ‘syndrome X’ and the solution is to lower our carbohydrate intake and raise our healthy fats. If you want to stay healthy and get to your ideal weight, you’ll find this episode fascinating.

Prof Tim Noakes, following his retirement from the Research Unit of Exercise Science and Sports Medicine, is now an Emeritus Professor at UCT. He is the co-founder of the Sports Science Institute of South Africa (SSISA). Following the publication of The Real Meal Revolution he founded The Noakes Foundation, which focuses on raising substantial funding to support high quality research of the LCHF eating plan. He now devotes the majority of his time to promoting this form of eating and on raising funds for research through The Noakes Foundation.
